Samsung copied Apple designs. Or did Apple copy Samsung designs? One jury seemed to think the former. Others in the past have said the latter. At stake are billions of dollars in product marketing investments and resulting sales and profits. But I have to wonder: when was the last time either company released something game changing? For all its faults, Amazon is forging ahead with new ways to purchase. Zappos is perfecting customer service. Audible is reimagining books. (Funny that all three are part of the same company). Amazon is succeeding (and failing, which is also good) by focusing on design, experience, and humans. Apple and Samsung used to. What happened?
