My wife wants to do on the trans-Canadian railway trip. I had to look this up; I didn’t know it existed. Apparently, you ride on a luxury train through the Southwest corner of Canada (just north of Montana, Idaho and Washington). The scenery is epic. The train cars are modern. The national parks are unforgettable. It’s a romantic adventure versus a commuter rail line. Amtrak is working on the same sort of experience south of the border. There’s no data-driven reason this will work. Americans love cars. They love their freedom. They don’t like being stuck in a confined space with a bunch of strangers. But I suspect they’ll find enough people who don’t fit that stereotype. Next year, count us among them.
